Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rains are likely in coastal and northern Odisha on Wednesday morning due to low pressure in the BayofBengal and its adjoining north-west and adjoining areas and it was informed by the Sikhsa and Anusandhan (Deemed to be University).
Because of this low pressure, Thursday it is going rain heavily at Khurdha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar and Chhattisgarh are likely to move westward towards Chhattisgarh and it will move towards middle of India.
Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri and Baleshwar districts have moderate to heavy rainfall. Heavy rains are expected in Devgarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Anugul, Boudh, Sonpur, Balangir and Nuapadha districts on Thursday and Friday.
This is the fourth tidal wave in the Bay of Bengal this August. The CEC has forecast heavy rains in the upper reaches of the river by Thursday and Friday, while the catchment area of the Brahmani and Budhabalang rivers is likely to receive showers.
