Flood water enters Balughati village of Rourkela

Rourkela: As many as 200 houses of Balughati village under Rourkela area have been marooned due to the floods in the Koel river, according to reports.
The water level rose in the river as seven gates at the Koel barrage were opened last night. The barrage was overflowed due to rains in the upper catchment area.
The district administration has put fire and ODRAF personnel to service in the village for rescue operation. The families are being shifted to safer places now. Relief operation would begin soon, said district officials.
Similarly, Ranibagicha and Mahadevpada areas of Sundargarh have been inundated due to rising water level in Ib river.

On the other hand, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Balasore districts have been put on alert as water level has crossed danger mark in Subarnarekha village at Rajghat in Balasore, the Special Relief Commissioner informed today.
