Odiya scientist in Andaman Dr. Jayant Kumar Mishra is no more

Jajpur: The first Odiya scientist to do a detailed study of blue-blooded crabs and oceanography studies at the Biruksabad campus in Andaman, Pondicherry Central University. Dr. Jayant Kumar Mishra, Chief Professor, Department of Marine Biology, passed away at the age of 59. Due to the complications of diabetes, Poskar’s G.B. The tragedy took place at around 5 a.m. on May 5, while Dr. Mishra was being treated at the G.B. Pant Hospital. The late Mishra is the son of Bharatchandra Mishra of the village of Siddheshwar Pur in the Dasarathpur block of Jajpur district and the late Satidevi. He graduated from Rambagh High School with a matriculation degree from Jajpur, B.Sc. in College. After studying, he received his M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D. from Berhampur University and DFC from Nagasaki University in Japan. He traveled to other parts of the world to study the oceans. Many of his research papers have been published in national and international journals. Among his proven forms was the “National Survivor Award” for his work on blue blood crabs.
