State government to decide on the opening of religious institutions: High Court

Bhubaneswar: The number of corona deaths in the country and the state is on the rise. Therefore restrictions were imposed on the closure of all religious institutions for the sake of public health. However, the High Court has directed the state government to decide on the opening of religious institutions in the state. Allegedly, religious organizations can be opened outside the contentment zone. The High Court, however, said the state government would take a final decision on the reopening of the shrine. But the decision has been asked to follow the Supreme Court’s order. It is noteworthy that there was a public interest litigation in the High Court over the opening of the religious institution.
