India today effectively test-terminated BrahMos supersonic rocket with a strike scope of in excess of 400 km from a base in Odisha, safeguard sources said.
The dispatch of the best in class rocket from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur close here was fruitful, Defense Research and Development (DRDO) sources said.
“All the boundaries were met during the preliminary,” a DRDO official said after the rocket was test terminated at 10.45 am. The rocket can be dispatched from land, ocean stages just as warrior planes, he said. The primary expanded variant of the rocket, which had a strike scope of 450 km, was effectively tried on March 11, 2017. On September 30, 2019 a shorter range land rendition of BrahMos was effectively test terminated from Chandipur ITR.
