Taxi driver groups strike against rising fuel costs

New Delhi: Taxi driver groups strike,  Cab driver affiliations held a dissent against taking off fuel costs at the Barakhamba Road region of the public capital on Friday. Kamaljit Gill, Sarvodaya Drivers Association president, said cabbies tied dark strips on their countenances and held a serene dissent from 10 am to 11 am.

“The consent was for 80 individuals. Be that as it may, around 200 arrived at Barakhamba Road, left their vehicles and joined the dissent calmly without saying anything. We will hold another dissent the country over on March 22 and 23,” he said.

Other than Sarvodaya Drivers Association, Expert Driver Solution, Rajdhani Parivahan and other comparable outfits partook in the dissent, Gill said.

Conveying notices, the dissenters requested that application based taxicabs ought to be brought under city taxi grant according to a 2017 request for the Supreme Court.

“Application-based cab drivers charge Rs 6 for every kilometre. They give 25% to the organization as commission, and as the costs of petroleum are expanding step by step, it is getting hard for them,” Gill said.
