UPI transaction protection, Supreme Court to Centre

The Supreme Court today gave notice to Center, Google, Amazon and Facebook/WhatsApp over a request recorded by CPI MP Binoy Viswam looking for information security of exchanges made over UPIs.

A three-judge seat headed by CJI SA Bobde stated, “we will give notice. Here there is misgiving that the whole system of installments will begin before the whole administrative structure is set up.” Senior promoter Shyam Divan showing up for Viswam said that RBI gave a request in April 2018 requesting that these worldwide firms guarantee information executed on these discussions is made sure about in a worker inside India. This was to be gone along by October 2018 yet was not done, Divan included. He further educated the court that WhatsApp stores information with its parent organization Facebook having worker outside India.
