Shri Abhay, IPS, DGP, Odisha visited Angul today. He was accompanied by Shri R.K. Sharma, IPS, ADGP, Intelligence and Mrs. Rekha Lohani, IPS, IGP, Modernistion. DGP reviewed Crime and Law and Order situation in the North Central Range, Talcher. IGP, NCR, Talcher; SsP of Angul, Dhenkanal and Deogarh districts were present in the meeting.

While appreciating increasingly positive feedback received from citizens under MO Sarkar scheme, DGP impressed upon the SsP to bring about further behavioral changes among police personnel. He expressed concern over low conviction rate by better investigation, use of scientific methods of investigation and use of Digital forensics. He reviewed the performance of achievements of districts on NBW execution and instructed the SsP to execute more and more warrants.

Special focus was given to organised crimes such drug peddling, ganja cultivation and smuggling, swindling cases and cyber crimes. He impressed upon IG, NCR, Talcher to organise more training programmes to enable police officers take up effective investigation of organised crimes and Cyber-crimes.

While appreciating the efforts of SP, Angul and SP, Dhenkanal in containing the anti-social activities of coal mafia and black-stone mafia; he directed the SsP to detect dacoity, robbery, theft cases and implement innovative methods to contain these offences.

He expressed satisfaction that Maoist activities have been effectively controlled in Deogarh and Angul districts and directed the SsP to further intensity their anti-maoist operations.

DGP also visited Police Training, Angul and interacted with police officers and briefed them about imparting better training to officers and constables.
