Chief Secretary Reviewed the Covid Situation in the Districts

Clarified the Fresh Guidelines and Strict imposition of Covid appropriate behavior
Night curfew imposed in ten bordering districts
Night curfew in urban areas of other 20 districts
Weekend shutdown in ten bordering districts

Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Sri Suresh Chandra Mahapatra reviewed the Covid situation in all districts over video conferencing today evening from Lokseba Bhawan conference hall; and, clarified the fresh Covid containment guidelines to Collectors, SPs, Superintendents of Medical Colleges,  CDMOs, and concerned district officers. District wise issues regarding the operationalization of Covid Care Centers (CCCs), enforcement of the Covid appropriate behavior, dispersing of the markets places, imposition of night shutdown in urban areas, weekend shutdown in urban areas of bordering districts, increasing the testing and isolation, monitoring of home isolation, micro-management plans in different districts, closure of schools, Colleges, and coaching institutions and other matter were discussed and resolved in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Reviewed the Covid Situation in the Districts

Chief Secretary directed the Collectors to increase the number of rapid response teams
for monitoring the home isolation cases; and, allot a small area to each team for intensive
monitoring. The teams should also work for testing, contact tracing.
Sri Mahapatra made it clear that the district administration should now singularly focus
on containment of the spread of the infection. The collector can engage any employee from any department in Covid duty as per the Disaster Management Act. All Government employees will be under complete control of Collectors of the respective districts. The CDMOs and medical officers were asked to follow the SOPs judiciously for admission into, and, discharge from Covid hospitals. Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Welfare Sri Pradeepta Kumar Mohapatra also directed to follow the SOPs strictly regarding referral of Covid patients. Collectors were also asked to make oxygen arrangements in CCCs and treat the non-critical patients there.
Further, Sri Mahapatra asked the Collectors to involve the PRI institutions and village
communities actively in the containment of the virus in their respective areas. The Collectors of ten bordering districts namely Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Koraput, and Makangiri were directed to strictly impose the night curfew and weekend shutdown in all urban and rural areas without embarrassing the genuine people. They were also asked to monitor the micro-management plans very closely.
